Tax Freedom Day April 17, 2012

The Tax Foundation, a Washington D.C.-based think tank, collects data and publishes research studies on tax policies on both the federal and state levels.  Since the early 1970’s, The Foundation has produced a yearly report called Tax Freedom Day.  This is the date in the year when Americans will have earned enough money to pay their yearly taxes, and the remainder of their yearly earnings is theirs.  There is some speculation that the date calculated for each state is not exactly correct, but the information is interesting nonetheless.  Read more about it here.
